Daisy had a very good time away and amongst all the good things, there was time for a little reflection on recent issues and mostly on her blog proposal - that willing UK adult citizens and, possibly adult Commonwealth citizens, could donate a sum of not less than £5.00 per head, to a fund to buy Her Majesty the Queen, a new Royal Yacht.
It seemed very good to Daisy, watching Andrew Marr's BBC1 television programme, The Diamond Queen, just a couple of weeks ago, and it still does so today, Sunday, 26th February.
Daisy has discussed her proposal with many people, young and old, and what's mostly been expressed is the view that Her Majesty could probably buy her own new yacht, if that was desired; but then again, some expressed the view that Her Majesty might be somewhat discomforted by the acquisiton of a new royal vessel when many of her subjects were suffering great difficulty under the present UK and worldwide economic situation. Many people envisage ever tougher days ahead and do we really know how difficult things could become?
However, as Daisy rightly points out, even in difficult times, somehow people manage to buy gifts and presents to mark significant celebrations, even small ones. Familys celebrate loved ones' longevity, long years of work and major wedding anniversaries, finding suitable ways to express their appreciation, respect and thanks.
This year, our present monarch, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll, celebrates the 60th anniversary of her Accession, making her the longest reigning monarch in living memory. Daisy feels this is a very significant and impressive anniversary and deserving of much celebration and respect.
"As we respect our own individual celebratory occasions, would it not be very nice and pleasing to join together, in one huge and magnificent outpouring of national respect and admiration, and present to Her Majesty a combined present in this the 60th anniversary of her Accession?".
"Of course, a new vessel could cost much more than we could possibly raise from small individual donations but, you know how it is, once somebody's got the ball rolling, it's amazing how suddenly other donations come pouring in! We just might do it; let's try?".
